I am a 45 year old businessman.
My wife wants me to do a medical check-up because I am tired.
I travel 2-3 days weekly everywhere (Asia/US/Middle East and Mexico).
I did not loose weight; I am smoking 20 cigarettes daily and I do not enjoy physical activity. I only walk to my different professional appointments in town.
Results of the check-up:
Clinically and biologically the medical screening is normal except for a rather low vitamin D level in the blood for which a minute treatment is prescribed.
Tabagism and physical activity:
1. Tobacco withdrawal is important!
There is a saying whereby the number of cigarettes you have smoked per day and the number of years of smoking have a direct impact on the likelihood of occurrence of cardiovascular diseases (stroke, heart attack, etc.) or cancer.
Tobacco withdrawal is now clearly needed and there are multiple ways to do it.
2. Physical activity is essential to maintain the muscle tone and consequently autonomy!
2 x 30 min of physical activity weekly is enough to achieve this.
If I were part of the Human Resources Department the ideal initiative would be to organize in house training sessions twice a week with a nice coach, preferably during lunch break, at the end fruit would be served.
And I also recommend to stop as much as possible taking lifts…!
